A short introduction
I’m Martin.
I make things with my hands, think a lot about how and why we make, and try to move a little slower than the world seems to want me to.
Most of my time is split between work, family, and a workshop that’s constantly evolving. This journal sits in the gaps between those things — a place to reflect, document, and make sense of the process rather than rush to outcomes.
I’m not here to teach or preach. I’m here to pay attention.
Why this exists
I’m a maker by nature and a maintenance engineer by trade. I work with various materials, machines, tools, and systems — and I’ve learned that the most meaningful work rarely comes from chasing productivity or perfection.
This journal started as a way to keep making without turning everything into a business, a brand, or a product. It’s a space to think out loud about craft, waste, sustainability, creativity, and the reality of balancing work, family, and personal projects.
Some days this looks like building something in the workshop. Other days it’s writing about why I didn’t.
Both matter.
This site isn’t here to sell you anything. It’s here to document a way of thinking — and maybe offer a bit of reassurance that it’s okay to move slowly.
