I wanted to share a brief update on where things are at.
I’ve been absent from YouTube for a while, and the next video is about that absence — why it happened, what was taking priority, and how things shifted in the background.
A lot of that time was spent focusing on family, and on letting things settle where they needed to. Alongside that, I’ve been finishing off an old, unfinished project in the workshop. As often happens, it didn’t end up where I originally thought it would.
Changes to how the workshop is organised altered the end result, but more importantly they helped clear some headspace. Reworking the space became a way of rethinking where I’m heading with making in general — what I want to spend time on, and what I’m happy to leave behind.
Looking ahead, there’s a clearer sense of direction than there has been for a while. There are already plans in place for a series of videos that link together — each one standing on its own, but gradually building towards something that will make more sense later on.
This year isn’t about chasing growth or output. It’s about laying foundations — for the channel, the workshop, and the way I want to approach making going forward.
The video is currently in edit and, all being well, should be ready within the next week. There’s no rush. I’d rather it be honest than on time.
For now, that’s where things stand.
More soon — when it’s ready.
The pieces are starting to line up, even if the picture isn’t clear yet.
